An iconic route cycled by hundreds of people every year, usually over 4 or 5 days. But how about doing it in just 1 day?

A stunning 150 mile with 4500m of ascent road ride from the mountainous Western Lake District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the flat Vale of York and finally the Northern Valleys of the North York Moors, finishing by the sea in Whitby.

Coast to Coast in a Day is probably one of the most magnificent sportives, that takes the format of a journey, rather than a circular route. It’s now in its tenth year and going very strong, attracting up to 1,000 riders every year. It’s very well known within the cycling market as a bucket list challenge for so many cyclists with a total of 150 miles and 15,000ft of ascent making it one of the toughest
challenges around.

The route starts in Seascale, Cumbria, taking on some of the biggest climbs in the Lake District, Hardnott and Wrynose passes before continuing through Kendal into the Yorkshire Dales at Sedburgh. Winding its way through the Dales along the edge of Wensleydale, through Garsdale, Hardraw, Askrigg and Tunstall, the views are breathtaking. For the final leg we move onto the desolate Yorkshire Moors, taking on Danby and Glaisdale before the magnificent finish on the Cliff Top in Whitby.

Coast to Coast in a Day is not a challenge to be taken lightly and we recommend that participants put in a good six months training in preparation for the big day.

Every rider on the event is issued a GPS tracker so friends, family and your team can see where you are and how you are doing.

Entry is just £95 and you will receive a stunning Yorkshire Air Ambulance Cycling Jersey (select size when purchasing entry) to wear with pride during training and on the big day.
