Often, people are keen to organise a fundraising event for Yorkshire Air Ambulance but don’t always know where to start. This section of our website is designed to help with a bit of inspiration and will point you in the right direction to get started.

When thinking of ways to fundraise for YAA, the sky is the limit!

Fundraising ideas

  • The old ideas are often the best – organise a raffle, coffee morning, quiz night, sponsored challenge, or host an open garden
  • Turn your hobby into cash – sell arts and crafts or delicious cakes and jams at summer fetes and local shows
  • Sporting challenges – host a five-a-side football tournament, family sports day, golf or darts competition
  • Get Social – Perhaps social events are more your thing, so how about arranging a cheese and wine night, a quiz night, a bingo night, or even a karaoke night. Why not consider hosting your own charity ball and give all your friends and family a real excuse to dress up!
  • Non-uniform Day – Win brownie points amongst your colleagues and ask your boss if you can hold a non-uniform or dress down day for a small donation to YAA
  • Yellow Yorkshire Day – Join hundreds of others across the region and take part in our annual Yellow Yorkshire fundraising day

If you would like to request for a YAA representative to come along to your event it is vital that we are given as much notice as possible. We attend many, many events, especially over the summer months, and cannot guarantee that we will have someone available to attend an event at short notice (we classify short notice as 1 to 2 weeks). Ideally, we require 4 weeks + notice to be able to bring our fundraising stall or promotional vehicle to events such as fetes/ galas/ fun days, etc.

  • Gift Aid

    Gift Aid

    As an independent registered charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance is entitled to HMRC’s Gift Aid scheme. This means that for every £1 donated, we can claim a further 25p from the government. So a donation of £1 would become £1.25, a donation of £5 is boosted to £6.25 and a £10 donation increases to £12.50, and so on. It’s a great way to boost your donation at no extra cost to you.

    Please note that we can only claim Gift Aid on personal donations made by a UK taxpayer and not on business or corporate donations.

    If you would like to register your details so that we are able to claim Gift Aid on any donation you make or any eligible donation that you have made in the last 4 years, you can fill in our online Gift Aid Declaration Form.

    Don’t forget to remind your supporters about Gift Aid. If they are a UK taxpayer they will be able to select Gift Aid on your sponsorship form or any online fundraising platform that you might be using.
