We would love to come and talk to your school or youth group about the work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

We have a program of fun activities, that we can do with your group to teach them about the Charity, and fantastic interactive promotional vehicles that feature a replica helicopter cockpit. Find out more below.

Photo shows one of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance promotional vehicles parked on grass. The sides are out and display photos of the yellow helicopter and a pilot with a helmet on and has some wording, which cannot be made out on the photo. The words Saving Lives Across Yorkshire are along the bottom. There is an awning out from the side of the vehicle. There are open doors with steps and a large window. On top of the vehicle are two flags.

YAA Promotional Vehicle

We have two units covering the Yorkshire region. Each vehicle features a replica cockpit, with screens showing aerial footage of the views the crews experience whilst flying in the air ambulance helicopters. They also have screens that show various educational and informative videos, including interviews with the YAA crew. These screens can also be used for presentations.

The sights and sounds provide an immersive experience and there is a seating area where visitors can chat with YAA staff and volunteers.

Take a look inside…

YAA Sky Super Stars.

We have created the YAA Sky Super Stars, a cartoon version of our amazing crew, and a team of characters who all feature in our first ever YAA storybook, which you can find out more about below.

Our YAA Sky Super Stars will feature in a range of materials for younger children, including a sticker that each child we visit at your venue will receive, should they wish.

Fun and educational activities

We have lots of fun activities that we can do with your group and each will teach them something different about our life-saving Charity, inspire future careers, and introduce Corporate Social Responsibility in a fun and exciting way.

We also have a storybook that has been created especially for schools and young children’s groups, which tells the tale of Henry the Helicopter’s Emergency Mission. We have had this turned into an animation, which we can’t wait to share with you.

We can adapt each session to the number of children, age, time available, and space and access to the location. For example, not all venues can accommodate our Promotional Vehicle, so we would bring other materials for use within a classroom or school hall.

How to request a visit

If you would like us to come to your school or youth group, fill out the form below and one of our fundraisers will be in touch to discuss this with you further and arrange a date.

We can adapt each session to the number of children, age, available time, and the space and access to the location. Our Promotional Vehicle is quite large, so where space is limited we could bring other materials for use within a classroom or school hall.

We are only able to fit in a limited number of visits each month, so if you have a particular event or date that you would like us to attend, let us know as soon as possible.

If you have any further questions, please contact our Charity office on 01422 237900 or email info@yaa.org.uk

National Emergency Services Museum

September 2023 saw the launch of a mini-exhibition, Pilots, Paramedics and Propellers, at the National Emergency Services Museum. The exhibition, which was created in partnership with Yorkshire Air Ambulance and partly sponsored by the Church Burgesses Educational Foundation, is dedicated to the work of the UK’s air ambulance services.

With interactive displays and a whole host of information, find out how air ambulance charities operate across the country and what is involved in our daily operations and callouts.
