Registered Volunteers:

Our Registered Volunteers are a vital part of the YAA family and support the charity in many ways. The passion and dedication of our volunteers means that we can continue to be there for the people of Yorkshire and continue to save lives. Volunteers give their time and energy to support the charity to raise funds for our life saving work, whether that’s weekly, monthly or a few times a year. We are always looking for enthusiastic, reliable and committed people to join our growing team of volunteers. Our roles are flexible and can fit around you – whether you want to contribute regularly or occasionally.

Community Event Fundraiser

  • Help raise funds for and awareness of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
  • Attend community events as a representative of the YAA
  • Take YAA stock/merchandise and stall equipment (if physically able) to events
  • Attend helicopter visits and assist with the helicopter landing and crowd control
  • Act as an information source for members of the public, answering questions and promoting the work of the YAA
  • Deal with money and complete relevant paperwork (if able to)
  • Have fun, integrate with communities and meet like minded people!

  • Public Speakers
    • Raise awareness and the profile of the charity by attending talks to various groups, schools, clubs and organisations
    • Contact the organiser of the talk at least a week before to confirm the finer details, such as equipment needed, ask if we are okay to take a merchandise stall and obtain some background information about the group
    • Confidently deliver the key messages of the YAA to groups of varying numbers
    • Able to adapt a presentation to suit the audience and the requirements of the group
    • Able to use Microsoft PowerPoint/very basic IT skills – PowerPoint presentations and equipment will be provided by the charity
    • Cash handling
  • Bag Packing or Supermarket Collectors
    • Raise awareness of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by providing a presence at supermarkets which have chosen us as their charity of the year or invited us into store for a day
    • Interact with members of the public to generate awareness of the charity and spread the key messages
    • Attend bag packs or bucket collections as a representative of the YAA
    • Take our fundraising stall to the foyers of supermarkets
    • Bank any money collected and complete the relevant banking paperwork
  • Cheque Presentation Speakers
    • Raise awareness and the profile of the charity by attending talks to various groups, schools, clubs and organisations

  • Collection Tin & Information Point Stewards
    • Maintain collection tin and information points in existing locations
    • Ensure collecting tins are emptied and replaced when full
    • To keep clear accurate records of where tins are located
    • Counting and banking monies collected within the tin
    • Build relationships with existing collecting tin sites to ensure long term support of the YAA
    • Identify new locations for collection tins and information points
    • This position is perfect for those looking for a very flexible role, volunteering around work, family or personal commitments.
