Lisa Dale

A lady with a blonde bob hair style and wearing a black fleece with a red logo

Meet Lisa Dale, our Clinical Support Officer who joined the Yorkshire Air Ambulance team in September 2024. Born and raised in Sheffield, Lisa brings with her a wealth of experience after 27 years in the NHS, primarily in the Acute and Emergency Medicine directorate.

In her new role at YAA, Lisa is focused on supporting the clinical team of doctors and paramedics by helping to embed clinical and quality governance. By collecting and analysing data on the incidents we attend, she plays a crucial role in developing and improving the service we offer.

One of her proudest achievements throughout her career was helping to establish the Major Trauma Service at Northern General Hospital, ensuring that it became a Major Trauma Centre. Her role in collecting and interpreting data on trauma patients was key to its success.

Speaking of why she was eager to join YAA, Lisa said, “I’ve often wondered what it would be like to work for a charity and when this position came up, I grabbed this opportunity with both hands! This role perfectly combined my expertise in major trauma data analysis with the opportunity to support an emergency medical service from a new angle. I have worked with consultants who also fly with YAA, so I had some insight into the amazing work the Air Ambulance team does every day. Now I feel so proud to be a part of that team and help to continue to develop the service.”

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys family walks—especially if cake and coffee are involved—and is an avid reader of urban fantasy fiction, preferring the escapism of a good novel over biographies. In addition, an interesting fact about Lisa is that she once completed the Sheffield Half Marathon and has firmly said, “Never again!”

Karina Tape

Meet Karina Tape. Karina is one of our East Community Fundraisers here at Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Karina joined our South region fundraising team in March 2024, before moving over to our East region in October 2025. When Karina joined YAA she brought with her over two decades of retail and hospitality experience. With boundless enthusiasm and a knack for building connections, you can find Karina immersed in a range of fundraising activities, from organising and attending events to hosting talks, working alongside our incredible volunteers, arranging bucket collections, and ensuring our collection tins from local businesses are well taken care of.

Karina’s journey to Yorkshire Air Ambulance is deeply personal, having experienced firsthand the invaluable assistance of an Air Ambulance following an equestrian accident in 2018. This ignited her passion for the cause and inspired her to channel her skills towards making a meaningful difference in South Yorkshire. Karina shared, “Joining the charity felt like a perfect opportunity to merge my skills with my passion, contributing to a cause that holds a special place in my heart.”

Beyond her dedication to fundraising, Karina is an avid equestrian, spending her free time riding and caring for her horse, Piper, often participating in dressage competitions, and lending her time to her local riding club. Karina also has a love for photography, cooking, and baking, often making treats to enjoy on picnics with friends.

Karina once found herself face-to-face with Sylvester Stallone in a chance encounter in a holiday lift. On the same trip, she also discovered her very own doppelganger!

Richie Campbell

Meet Richie, our Senior Technical Crew Members (TCM). Richie joined our team as one of our Technical Crew Members in February 2024, before being promoted to Senior Technical Crew Member in June 2025. Proudly calling Sheffield home, Richie brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role, ensuring the safety and optimal performance of our aircraft.

As a TCM Richie conducts vital pre-flight checks and procedures as well as providing valuable assistance to the Pilot during key flight phases such as take-off, approach and landing, in addition to aiding the medical team in the capacity of Emergency Care Assistant (ECA).

Before joining Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Richie served in the Royal Air Force (RAF), where he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner, his role was multifaceted, serving as a support medic and close support protection gunner to the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) during deployments to combat areas. His primary mission was to ensure the security and close protection of the medical team and deployed aircraft while evacuating casualties from battlefield and trauma-exposed environments.

Most recently, Richie worked as an ECA for Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), operating from Sheffield Ambulance Station.

Beyond his professional commitments, Richie is an avid supporter of Sheffield United and dedicated his spare time to volunteering at a local animal rescue charity.

An interesting fact about Richie is that he once had the unique opportunity to share a pint with none other than Prince Harry during his time in the RAF!

Katie Roberts

Meet Katie Roberts, our Director of Relationships Fundraising here at Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Katie joined the team in early 2024 after relocating from West Sussex, bringing with her over two decades of experience working across regional, national, and international charity fundraising, communications, and retail teams.

With a passion for developing building strong teams and growing meaningful supporter relationships, Katie leads our fundraising efforts, working to shape strategy, deliver targets, and explore new ways to generate income for the charity. She’s a big believer in the power of relationships and loves collaborating with colleagues, supporters, volunteers, and donors to help keep YAA flying.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys exploring Yorkshire’s beautiful towns, villages, and countryside with her rescue cocker spaniel, Louie. When the weather’s good, you’ll find her out canoeing or paddleboarding (she’s a self-confessed fair-weather paddler), and when it’s not, she’s usually curled up with a book instead.
