Incident round up
Many believe the government funds Yorkshire Air Ambulance and that we fall under the NHS. This is untrue; a vital part of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s operation depends on the generosity of the public and organisations.
We are integrating a new system for our team to record call-outs. We are now adding incident reports again, recording recent incidents whilst also returning and adding incidents from previous months. This may take some time to update fully, so please bear with us.

Lythe, North Yorkshire
At 11:10 am on Tuesday, 19th August 2025, our Topcliffe-based crew and aircraft G-YORX were despatched to Lythe, near Whitby, to assist a person who had fallen from a loft hatch. They provided support at the scene before the person was taken to hospital by the road ambulance crew.

At 10:16 pm on Monday, 18th August 2025, our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were called to a road traffic collision in Ulrome in the East Riding of Yorkshire. They provided treatment at the scene before travelling with the person to hospital by road ambulance.

At 9:26 pm on Monday, 18th August 2025, our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were called to Ossett near Wakefield, to a person who had been involved in an accident involving machinery. They assisted at the scene before the person was taken to hospital by the road ambulance crew.

Whitby
At 10:52 am, whilst attending another incident in Whitby, our team were called to assist a person in cardiac arrest in the area. Our clinician and TCM attended. They provided treatment at the scene before our clinician travelled with the person to hospital, in the road ambulance, to enable ongoing treatment on the journey. Our pilot then picked the crew member up from the hospital before returning to base.

Our Topcliffe-based crew and aircraft G-YORX were despatched at 10:05 am on Monday, 18th August 2025, to Whitby to a person in cardiac arrest. Sadly, the person passed away at the scene.

At 3:38 pm on Sunday, 17th August 2025, our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were called to a person who had fallen from a horse in Norton, Nottinghamshire. They provided treatment and assistance at the scene before handing the person over to the road ambulance crew, who continued the care of the person and took them to hospital.

At 1:28 pm on Sunday, 17th August 2025, our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were despatched to Helmsley to attend a person who had a cut arm. They treated the person at the scene before handing them over the road ambulance crew, who continued the care and took the person to hospital.

Our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were called to Swinefleet in Goole at 5:23 pm on Saturday, 16th August 2025, to a person in cardiac arrest. They provided treatment at the scene before our medical crew travelled with the person to hospital in a land ambulance.

Pateley Bridge
Our Topcliffe-Based crew and aircraft G-YORX were called at 2:36 pm on Saturday, 16th August 2025, to a person who had fallen whilst abseiling from a bridge near Pateley Bridge. Our crew worked with HART (Hazardous Area Response Team), MRT (Mountain Rescue Team), and the fire service to access the person and extricate them, before flying them to hospital.

At 5:29 pm on Friday, 15th August 2025, our Nostell-based crew and aircraft G-YAAA were called to Tattershall in Lincolnshire alongside a crew from The Air Ambulance Service to a road traffic collision involving two people having been hit by a vehicle. Our crew flew one person to hospital and The Air Ambulance Service flew the second person to hospital.
