Dalesman Raffle
November 20, 2025 @ 08:00 – January 9, 2026 @ 23:59

The Yorkshire Dalesman magazine has teamed up with wildlife artist Andrew Hutchinson to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance this Christmas.
The monthly magazine commissioned Andrew to paint an original scene for its December front cover, which is being raffled with all proceeds going to YAA.
Pickering-based Andrew, one of the country’s foremost artists, whose works feature in royal collections, was delighted to help with the magazine’s festive fundraiser.
Said Andrew: “You see the YAA out there helping people and doing incredible work, it’s a pretty amazing set-up they have. They do amazing work, and if I can help them a little, I’ll be very proud.”
His painting features a winter wonderland scene of a snowy Rievaulx Abbey, England’s most majestic and complete abbey ruins, with sheep in the foreground.
A member of the Royal Society of Miniature Artists, Sculptors and Gravers, Andrew’s work is highly sought after both here and abroad. Probably best known for his paintings for the brand packaging of Taylor’s of Harrogate Yorkshire Tea, he is a winner of the HRH Prince of Wales Award for Outstanding Miniature Painting and the Anthony Lester Art Critics Award.

He was commissioned in 2017 by the Jersey Post Office to produce a range of stamps to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the animal charity JSPCA.
Mick Smith, editor of The Dalesman, said: “It’s an absolutely stunning painting done in Andrew’s inimitable trademark style that captures Yorkshire in December.
“Andrew’s one of the country’s leading painters and he was delighted to work with the magazine to raise funds for such a worthy cause. The painting is a wonderful view of Rievaulx Abbey, which will be mounted and framed for the lucky winner of this one-off work of art.”
We are delighted to be working with The Dalesman magazine and Andrew to raise essential funds for YAA in this, our twenty-fifth year.
