Ex-Patient Charlotte Jumps 15,000ft For The YAA!

Posted by Liv Johnson

Charlotte Leighton of Tollerton, near York was just ten when she was involved in a serious incident which left her fighting for her life. Charlotte was flown to Leeds General Infirmary in just 12 minutes where there were over twenty specialist consultants waiting to work on her. Charlotte suffered from severe facial injuries in a road traffic accident outside her home. Surgeons re-built her shattered face using pioneering facial reconstruction surgery. Since then Charlotte has had more than 10 operations.

Charlotte, now 21 is a fantastic ambassador for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and is a registered volunteer along with her Mother Sue. The Leighton family have been fundraising ever since Charlotte’s incident and have raised over £50,000 to date.

Charlotte’s latest fundraising fete will see her skydive from 15,000ft and she’s not going down alone, she’s recruited her Father Colin and Sister Serena to join her! The trio are hoping to raise as much as possible for a cause which is so close to their hearts! The skydive will take place on 29th July – for full details please visit their Just Giving Page:
