Community Group Fundraising Off To A Flyer

Friends of Doncaster Sheffield Airport (FODSA) raised the funds through attendance at local galas and events throughout the summer whilst promoting the Airport and FODSA.

The friends also looked after the pay booths as a large ‘Rescue Day’ event, held at 7 Lakes Country Park, Crowle –  rescueday999.com  – where they also added to their YAA fundraising pot.

Fundraising at Doncaster Sheffield Airport also helped towards the grand total of £3330 when FODSA had a stall in the terminal at the annual World Duty Free Sale in November.

Paul Maddison, Vice Chairman of FODSA said: “The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an incredibly worthwhile charity and we are delighted to once again be able to help support them and the invaluable service they provide.

“All the members of FODSA have a real enthusiasm for aviation so the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was an obvious choice when we were looking for a charity to fundraise for.

“We would like to thank all the companies who supported us in our fundraising for their kind and generous donations.”

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopters fly seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a vast landscape that not only includes major cities and motor ways, but also rural and isolated locations.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance Community Fundraiser for South Yorkshire, Charlie Pearson, said: “We are very grateful to everyone at FODSA their continued support of our charity.

“We need to raise £12,000 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air. The generosity that we receive is the life blood of the charity and without it we would not be able to provide the service that we are so proud of.”
