Incident round up
Many believe the government funds Yorkshire Air Ambulance and that we fall under the NHS. This is untrue; a vital part of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s operation depends on the generosity of the public and organisations.
We are integrating a new system for our team to record call-outs. We are now adding incident reports again, recording recent incidents whilst also returning and adding incidents from previous months. This may take some time to update fully, so please bear with us.

Appleton-le-Moors
At 15:51 on Tuesday 17th September 2024 our Topcliffe aircraft and crew were despatched to Appleton-le-Moors to an injured motorcyclist. The crew provided on-scene support before the motorcyclist was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

Our Nostell-based aircraft and crew were despatched at 19:15 on Monday 16th September 2024 to Honley, West Yorkshire, where a person had fallen from a horse. After assessing and treating the person on-scene, they flew them to hospital for further treatment.

At 17:36 on Monday 16th September 2024, our Nostell-based crew were despatched by aircraft to a person in cardiac arrest in Cudworth near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Sadly the person passed away.

Our Topcliffe-based aircraft and crew were despatch at 14:54 on Monday 16th September 2024, to a person who had fallen and suffered two dislocated wrists. They provided support on-scene, before the person was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

At 13:41 on Monday 16th September 2024 our Nostell-based aircraft and crew attended a person with a bleed above the knee. They provided on-scene support before the person was transferred to hospital by road ambulance.

At 12:30pm on Monday 16th September 2024 our Nostell-based aircraft and crew were despatched to Swinton in South Yorkshire to attend a person in cardiac arrest. Sadly the person passed away.

At 6:27 on Sunday 4th August 2024 our crew and aircraft based at Nostell were called to a person who had suffered a cardiac arrest while cycling. Sadly the person passed away.

At 4:07 pm on Sunday 4th August 2024 our Nostell-based crew and aircraft were despatched to a person who had fallen from a roof. They provided support on-scene before the patient was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

At 12:18 pm on Sunday 4th August 2024 our crew based at RAF Topcliffe were called in the aircraft to a person who it was suspected had suffered a stroke. The patient was flown to hospital.

At 10:53 am on Sunday 4th August 2024 our Topcliffe crew were despatched in the aircraft to a person who had fallen from their bicycle. They provided on-scene support before the patient was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

Our crew from Nostell were called to Sneaton near Whitby at 5:55 pm on Saturday 3rd August 2024 to a person who had fallen and been run over by a tractor. After treatment at the scene they flew the patient to hospital.

Well, North Yorkshire
Our Nostell-based aircraft and crew were despatched at 1:25 pm to assist with a patient who was having issues with the pacemaker. They had a low heart rate and were located in a remote location. On our crew’s arrival the patient had become more stable and was transported to hospital via road ambulance after our crew had provided support at the scene.
