Incident round up
Many believe the government funds Yorkshire Air Ambulance and that we fall under the NHS. This is untrue; a vital part of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s operation depends on the generosity of the public and organisations.
We are integrating a new system for our team to record call-outs. We are now adding incident reports again, recording recent incidents whilst also returning and adding incidents from previous months. This may take some time to update fully, so please bear with us.

At 14:01 the aircraft and crew based at our Nostell Air Support Unit were called to reports of a patient who had been stabbed and was not breathing. After attending with multiple other emergency services, the call was found to be a hoax. Our aircraft and crew were retasked to another call.

At 12:02 our aircraft and crew based at Nostell were called to a patient who had suffered a cardiac arrest following a fall whilst walking. Sadly the patient passed away.

At 09:59 the aircraft and crew from our base at RAF Topcliffe, were called to a person suffering a medical event near Harrogate. Our crew offered on-scene support before the patient was transported to hospital via road ambulance.

At 18:25 the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance requested our assistance at a road traffic accident involving a quad bike. The aircraft and crew attending from our Nostell Air Support Unit offered on-scene support before transferring the patient to hospital by air.

At 08:00 the aircraft and crew from our Nostell Air Support Unit were called to a stabbing. The patient required blood, which was administored by our crew, who then accompanied the patient to Northern General Hospital via road ambulance.

At 07:47 our Nostell aircraft and crew were called to reports of a person in the water. Sadly the person passed away.

At 20:37 our aircraft and crew from Nostell were called to a person who had fallen down the stairs. Our crew provided support at the scene and travelled with the patient, in the road ambulance, to Northern General Hospital.

At 11:41 our aircraft and crew at Topcliffe were called to a patient with stab injuries. Our crew provided treatment on scene before transporting the patient, by air, to Northern General Hospital.

Our Topcliffe-based aircraft and crew were called at 10:34 to a road traffic accident involving a motorcyclist. Our crew offered support on scene before the motorcyclist was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

At 10:31 the aircraft and crew from our Nostell Air Support Unit were called to a patient near Selby who was suffering a suspected heart attack. This was confirmed by our crew on scene, who provided treatment before transferring the patient by air to Leeds General Infirmary.
