The Hornsea Bike Event is an annual gathering bringing together motorbike enthusiasts and visitors in the idyllic seaside town of Hornsea in East Yorkshire.
The idea was developed from a discussion on Facebook between Hornsea residents who were sharing ideas on ways to bring new visitors and interests to the town. It was greeted with a great deal of enthusiasm and calls for it to be brought to reality, so Hornsea resident Jonathan Dunning-Davies, who had made the initial suggestion, organised an open meeting to explore the ideas further. From this the plan came together and the Hornsea Bike Event was born.
The event is now organised by a Committee who manage the planning and running of the day, and they are supported by the Trustees of the unincorporated charitable organisation that was set up to manage the business and finance.
2015 saw the inaugural event and it continues to be a family friendly day of bikes, memorabilia, live music, entertainment, exhibitors, rides, bike competitions, and more.
Our fundraising team will be at the event with a Yorkshire Air Ambulance stall and one of our air ambulance helicopters is due to make a visit*, a chance for you to see the helicopter up close and chat with the crew.
*Our helicopter will remain fully operational during the visit and as such may have to leave the event at short notice should the crew be called to an emergency. This also means that the visit cannot be guaranteed if the aircraft is called to an emergency at the time of the scheduled visit. Aircraft visits are also weather dependent. Please observe all instructions from YAA staff and volunteers on the ground during the visit.
