YAA Heli Hop

September 1, 2025 @ 08:00 July 31, 2026 @ 17:00

Get ready for an important mission, as schools across Yorkshire join forces to take part in the YAA Heli Hop – A hop-tastic challenge that’s all about fun, friendship, and fundraising for Yorkshire Air Ambulance!

What’s the buzz about?

The Heli Hop is no ordinary hop – it’s your chance to hop, skip, and jump your way to supporting the incredible work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Imagine the thrill of soaring through the air, all whilst making a real difference to the lives of those who need it most.

By participating in the Heli Hop, your school or group becomes a vital part of our life-saving mission. We would love to encourage the children to gain some sponsorship from their family and friends to participate in the challenge, with funds raised during this event directly contributing to sustaining the essential air ambulance service in Yorkshire, making a tangible impact on our ability to be there in times of urgent need.

Every hop brings us closer to reaching new heights in fundraising success!

Your Heli Hop Pack awaits!

Every school hopping into action will receive:

A dedicated YAA contact: A member of the YAA team who will support and liaise with you throughout the organisation of your event and on the day of your Heli Hop.

YAA Heli Hop headbands: Transform into Heli Heroes with these colourful headbands featuring Henry the Helicopter.

Easy-to-use sponsorship forms: Make collecting your fundraising a breeze, ensuring your mission stays organised and simple. You can also create an online fundraising page (you will be invited to do this once you have completed the sign-up form), to collect online donations – you will get a unique URL and QR code, which you can share, making fundraising even easier!

Participant completion certificates: Celebrating each child’s commitment to making a positive impact within their local community, you will receive a branded certificate for each child to take home.

The chance to win a helicopter visit to your school or group location: One lucky school or group will win the opportunity to have a visit from one of the actual Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopters and crew! The lucky school or group will win the chance for one of our helicopters to fly into your grounds and give the children the opportunity to look round the helicopter and talk to the crew.*

*This is subject to operational requirements and the landing site suitability. A clear open space of 100m x 100m is required as a minimum. Should the land be deemed unsuitable or permission not granted, a crew visit will be arranged for the winning school or group. All schools/groups hosting a Heli Hop and raising funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance between 01.09.25 and 01.05.26 will be entered into a draw, with the winner being contacted on 15.05.26. The visit will be arranged for a suitable date and time for both the school/group and Yorkshire Air Ambulance between 15.06.26 and 31.07.26.

Pick your date, choose your spot, set your pace!
