Mobile Educational Unit Vehicle Driver/Event Set up -Voluntary

Location: Across the Yorkshire region

Hours: Flexible – dependent on event schedule and volunteer availability

Reports to: Regional Fundraiser

Salary: This is a voluntary role

Other: Due to the nature of the work, there will be some heavy lifting and may involve long days. Mileage/travel expenses will be paid to cover collection and drop off of the vehicle.

At Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA), our helicopters are ready to respond to emergencies across Yorkshire – thanks to the generosity of the public and the dedication of our team.

About the Role

Support Yorkshire Air Ambulance by safely driving, setting up, and packing down the Mobile Educational Unit (MEU) at event across the region, helping to raise awareness of the Charity’s lifesaving work.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive the MEU vehicle to and from events (collection from our Airbase at Wakefield or other locations across the region)
  • Assist with setting up and packing down the unit at event locations
  • Ensure the vehicle and equipment are treated with care, and any issues that arise are reported
  • Represent Yorkshire Air Ambulance in a professional, friendly, and positive manner
  • Work alongside staff and other volunteers to ensure events run smoothly
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and guidance provided

What We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience

  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (vehicle can be driven on a normal licence)
  • Confident and comfortable driving larger vehicles
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
  • Friendly, approachable, and happy to engage with staff, volunteers, and the public
  • Able to carry out light physical tasks involved in set-up and pack-down

Time Commitment

  • Flexible and agreed in advance
  • Volunteering opportunities will depend on event schedules and availability
