Advent Calendar of Kindness

We want to share with you some ideas of how you might be able to give back to your friends, family, community and even yourself this Christmas.
Take part in our Advent Calendar of Kindness, opening a new window each day in the run up to Christmas to reveal a random act of kindness for you to fulfil.

From 1st to 25th December a new window will be available to open daily, so don’t forget to come back each day and open your window.

Share this advent calendar to encourage others to spread kindness and raise awareness of the YAA and then come back every day in December to reveal the next act of kindness.

Buy an extra item when out grocery shopping and donate it to a food bank. Some of the supermarkets have collections after the checkouts

Have a pre-Christmas sort out and donate any unwanted clothing and shoes to the YAA. You can find your nearest YAA recycling bank here

Put your loose change in to a charity box.

Support a small independent business in your community or online. Great for unique and locally made or inspired Christmas gifts

Let a family member or friend know how much you appreciate them.

Text YAACHRISTMAS to 70085 to donate £2 to the YAA and help keep us flying over Yorkshire and saving lives.

Say ‘Hello’ if you see anyone out and about today, maybe it will be your neighbour or someone you see whilst our walking.

Send someone a handmade Christmas card or purchase one from our online store for #WorldChristmasCardDay

Support the YAA and buy something from our online shop. You will find lots of great Christmas gift ideas or maybe just a little treat for yourself.

Contact someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, just for a chat.

Take one less car journey and help to reduce your carbon footprint.

Become a YAA volunteer. Pledge as little or as much time as you can give in 2021.

Write a happy note and leave it where someone will find it.

Be kind to yourself by taking 30 minutes out for you and do something you enjoy.

Share our YAA newsletter, Airborne, and raise awareness of our life saving Charity.

Re-gift one of your old Christmas presents to charity for #Nationalregiftingday

Write letters to those in care homes to spread some Christmas cheer.

Have a technology free day and focus on quality time with friends and family.

Consider giving a donation to the YAA in lieu of a Christmas present.

Check in on a neighbour who may be elderly or lives alone and make sure they have all of the essentials they need for the Christmas period.

Learn Happy Christmas in five different languages so that you can spread the cheer worldwide!

Hang your own decoration on the one of the YAA Christmas trees, make a donation and leave a message.
