Walker raises £275 for the YAA walking the Halifax Long March

A huge thank you to Robert Batty who has raised £275 walking the Halifax Long March.

Rob has walked the Halifax Long March for 19 years, starting when he was 14 years old. For the last three years, he has been known as the ‘Last Walker’ who sticks at the back of the pack, relieving marshals once he passes them.

“It’s a tough job, not being able to walk at your normal comfortable pace, however it is a gratifying job that allows you to meet and help other people,” said Rob.

The walk sets off from the YMCA in Halifax and headed out towards Sowerby Bridge, before doubling back to West Vale. The walk consists of 10 hours of walking, covering 26 miles across the Calder sale landscape.

Well done Rob!
