Bright and early on Monday morning I went with Kerry Garner, our West Yorkshire Community Fundraiser to a school in Heckmondwike to meet some pupils who had been fundraising in aid of the YAA and had a cheque to present to us. We had the pleasure of attending the morning assembly where we sat on stage and after the general notices and upbeat sing song, Kerry gave a excellent thank you speech to the pupils, also letting them know where the money they had raised would be spent. After the assembly we had our picture taken with the pupils and headmaster of them handing over the cheque to us. It was a really nice way to start off the week!
Last week I also went with Katie Collinson, our Key Relationships Coordinator, to a school in Dewsbury for an assembly where the pupils wanted to help fundraise for us in a different way – through our recycling scheme. Katie gave a presentation with Huddersfield Town Academy member Andy Booth to tell the pupils all about the Keep It Up campaign, and at the end each pupil was given a recycling bag to take home and fill up with unwanted clothing, shoes and textiles in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town Academy. Another early morning, yet it really is enjoyable to meet all the people who want to support the Charity.
If you would like the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to come to your school or any kind of group or club to give a talk about the Charity, then please don't hesitate to give us a call in the Charity head office on 01422 237900
