Maureen Dillon admitted that she was “very much out of her comfort zone” when she agreed to take part in a tandem parachute jump above the skies of County Durham. She initially bid for the challenge at a charity golf dinner and then decided to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance by asking for sponsorship.
Friends and family generously helped her raise over £1,000.00 and she parachuted out of the plane at the beginning of November. Maureen’s nerves were really tested as due to bad weather, she turned up at the Peterlee Parachute Centre on four separate days before the plane actually took her to the skies.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance are very grateful to Maureen for taking on such a brave challenge and helping raise vital funds for our service.
