Coffee Morning Makes Marvellous Fundraising Total for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance

On 18th May, lovely local lady Linda Halliday (South Kilvington, Thirsk) hosted a coffee morning in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. She raised an exceptional £1585.90 for the YAA.

Olivia Mulligan (North Yorkshire Community Fundraiser) said: “Linda’s determination and organisation to host a brilliant event was exceptional. It was heart warming to see how much effort she had gone to in order to get so many raffle prizes and make all the games look so inviting. It blows me away that a coffee morning (just a morning!!) can raise £1585.90… That’s community spirit at its finest!”

Besides selling coffee and tea for £1, Linda also had a raffle, tombola, Bric-a-brac, Guess the Teddy Bear and beautiful cakes. Local YAA volunteer, Carolyn, helped on the day and said it was an event with a “lovely atmosphere” and that “Linda’s kindness and organisation was amazing.”

As an independent charity we rely on such wonderful local support to keep our helicopters flying, maintained and saving more lives across Yorkshire.
