North Yorkshire
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance have been victims to bogus ‘door knockers’ in the North Yorkshire area recently. The charity would like to clearly clarify that they never send any staff or volunteers ‘door knocking’.
The charity are working to try and raise awareness of these bogus door knockers in the North Yorkshire area so no more unsuspecting residents fall victim to this scam.
Paul Gowland, Director of Fundraising for Yorkshire Air Ambulance commented: “We have been made aware recently that someone is going round the North Yorkshire area asking people for donations to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The charity would like to clarify that they never used this tactic to fundraise. This person/ people are imposters and we strongly advise residents not to give out any of their personal details”.
The charity office have had reports that this person/ people have been operating around the Gargrave and Skipton area in the last few days.
Anyone who is approached by someone claiming to be from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance should contact the charity office on 01422 280122.
